And now I write of something that I consider as the cause of human fall and his rise, both. Humans look for a sense of security and look for assistance outside, and as and when the need for security of one type fades, the need for assistance is also gone. All human love (as we call it) is based upon a sense of security, it may be a long-lasting need or a need that lasts for a short time depends from person to person. You are in a psychological need and you find someone. With the passage of time that psychological need may disappear altogether, and if not both, one of the persons is left in despair and suffering. Humans at an average level of consciousness cannot psychologically get rid of this need for security, so they find it in means like love, wealth, possessions, and such. Also, one form of means can take the form of another according to one’s circumstances, e.g. if you are in need of love and emotional support at the times when you are looking forward towards monetary security, then that need for emotional support may completely disappear when the monetary security builds in one’s life. This just means that one wanted something else but was supported by something else, and thus when the want is fulfilled, the support loses all its meaning.
Human beings are condemned with this void inside that wants to fill itself with one thing or the other. This vacuum can never be filled with any means that are external to oneself, be that friend, lover, money, possessions, even knowledge, or anything one might look forward to in the external world. This vacuum is man’s greatest curse and man’s greatest boon. This is the vacuum that keeps the man tied like a rope between the animal and the divine. One end keeps pulling him towards the animal inside while the other end towards the divine. In this tension, man lives. In this tension he becomes happy or sad, loves or hates, appears or disappears. This tension keeps man restless all through his life, and still most humans really don’t strive to find the reason behind this void and the means to get rid of it. In ideal sense, this void can never be filled, but this is the nature of the world. The world was blessed to be devoid of any kind of perfection, and thus human imperfections are what make them dynamic creatures. The way to getting rid of the illusions created by this vacuum inside, in the form of all human affairs is only through a constant remembrance and meditation on one’s true nature, on one’s internal phenomenon, a constant vigil and observation of one’s activities and thoughts. This is how humans can strive to attain to the totality of their being.
This is after which is possible any kind of real communication between two human beings. This is after which is possible any kind of love between two human beings. And only after this is possible as to what we call the fulfillment of the true meaning of human life. Not before ….
